I am running kali Linux on a kindle fire and have some questions. I ran this command in the terminal window
apt-get update && apt-cache search kali-linux-all
It downloaded everything no issues. But nothing shows up in the android folder. Do I need to run and update and install command to get these to show up?

If I click the applications folder it will show a time glass and do nothing. Is it because I installed everything and its super slow?

Try typing "apt-get <software you saw update>" and it should not ask you to download again but say it already exists.

I didn't really understand what is the problem you are facing, could you please be more clear? So I see if I can help..
If you want just to install a program you should learn the exact name, and as @BORW3 said run as root on the terminal apt-get install <exact name of the app>.

Yea the commands you show us will do those things,
1. update the system.
2. search in repos for the term 'kali-linx-all' and print results.

You can also check this tutorial. Will give you an idea of dpkg usage too.

EDIT : Yea I am sorry for the type '1. update the repos' is what I wanted to write, at least we have this guy over here ( @chmod ) correcting every piece of mistake we make.

apt-get update will just update the repos and downloads the package list so apt knows which is the newest versions of software available. This doesn't actually update any packages on the system to update the packages themselves apt-get upgrade is used.
