So I’ve just ordered some AirPods v2 off John Lewis for £200 and I’ve called support telling them that there was no apple AirPods inside the box. I told them the actual AirPods box was inside the box but the AirPods case and earphones weren’t. They asked me if the seal for the AirPods was broken and if there were signs of a tampered box and I said there was some brown tape on the box. Theyre now opening an investigation on the AirPods and I’m becoming paranoid now.

Will everything be alright?

I sent the pictures in the gyazo to them and I am waiting for a response. I have a feeling this may fail because I told them the airpods aren't in the apple box. I should've said that the entire apple airpod box wasnt in the packaging.

If you feel it will fail it will fail. Don't instantly assume it will.

If you have researched the method, learnt it, all you need to do now is execute it properly. Don't get nerves get the best of you.

Your innocent until proven guilty and they can't really prove your guilty unless you admit to guilt (stuff like not cooperating with procedure, etc) so carry on, check what they want, think carefully how to stage it and execute it.

You've done the right thing by saying the Item was missing. It's a lot more difficult to track and cross-check an Item, than an entire box.
