I'm sorry that you had to deal with irrelevant teachers. But I guess I was lucky, because our history teacher actually taught us about how taxes work, what they mean to us, how to pay them, etc while continuing to stay on topic about the Cold War which is pretty insane. However, that was a certain year when I had him. He was the best teacher who actually taught me and my friends what we NEEDED to know. But, if I were to choose if we didn't/did decide if school was needed, I would have to say it is. Even if an 8th Grade Teacher made us play musical chairs, you're at least learning something despite the efforts they are making. Think about it, I'm sure eventually there are classes where they do teach you about economics, but so far Civics/History is the closest to what is actually needed. Luckily you get as lucky as me to have a great teacher.

I dropped our my freshman year of highschool.
the school system used to be a great place. The problem now a days, are teachers see it as a job and not about the kids. Most teachers do not care as long as they get there pay check.
Maybe they should make teachers pay based off student grades. Teach more things about technology and growing the economy.
Lets kids try thigns there way instead of focing them to do it your way.
Most people come up with new ways to solve problems and do things because they try new things.
Be an innovator.
When was the last time we had something remarkable either be produced or solved from an average joe?
When was the last time this was accomplished by a major corporation?
think outside the box. Free your mind from the brainless books that teach you to sit down, shut up and take the same test as everyone else.
I quit school and went straight into the field I wanted from an early age.
Never looked back.
You mind is programmable – if you’re not programming your mind, someone else will program it for you.

Personally I see school as more of a gateway to becoming a specialist than there to teach you more "real-life" skills (Like Taxes).
Obviously it's good to learn about taxes and things like that, but they are things that can easily be picked up by googling "how 2 pay taxes" or just by asking a family member or friend. Whereas there's many things that you might want to learn in classes that might be harder to learn if you were left to your own devices.
Education is more than just teaching you to be street-smart nowadays, it's all about showing you what you can specialize in up until a certain age, and then allowing you to become more specialized, it's not the best for everybody but I'm very happy I have education personally.

I think its important till about 9th or 10th grade, I dropped out in 10th and got my GED and started college. I figured I learned enough throughout my 10 years that I was ready to learn something that will actually help me in the real world.

I think it's important as fuck. I mean getting a good high pay job without a degree is basically not going to go very well
