Is school really necessary? 11-24-2015, 06:14 PM

Alright, now before I start typing about this subject, I posted this in the serious discussion area for a reason.
Now, let's get started shall we?
I've always wondered if school was really, really necessary. Throughout my years in 5th, 6th and 7th grade I seriously questioned it. Considering, some of the things we're learning now a days in school. I don't know about people that live in other countries but I know some of the people in America will be able to relate to this subject. We're learning some really stupid things now a days, we're learning about our past, when we should be learning about the present and future. We're really not learning important things, things that will get us through everyday life without issues, once we're older of course. So, what should we be learning exactly. Well, let's start with.. Hmm, taxes? Yep, you'd be shocked how many people don't know how to do taxes, and that's because nobody learns how to do them in school, nobody teaches it. Now, I'm sure people will be saying below about how there is some electives in schools where you can learn this stuff. But, what kid is going to want to add MORE classes on top of the big list of classes they have already? Exactly, none. We really need to start learning the more important things in life, another example I've got is learning about voting, who we should be voting for when we turn 18. Most people don't know who the hell to vote for because we don't learn about any of the political parties in school. So, this concludes my rant on school not being necessary. If you'd like to tear me apart down below that'd be fine, this is strictly my opinion. Good day!
