I've yet to fail with the sealed box method, so both are much of a muchness.

Generally speaking, If they open the box, a dummy product can be justified. Because It's similar to the original Item, you'd say that you were In a hurry and packed & returned the Incorrect one. As to why the box was resealed to perfection, you were simply concerned that returning a damaged box would void your entitlement for a refund, hence sealed It as per Its factory state.

The weight differences could be a problem if you place a dummy phone in it with extra stuff for lifting the weight, then it might be suspicious. But I‘m most likely going for the iPhone box seal stripes.

The weight difference is negligible. The dummy for the 13 Pro weighs 220 grams while the real phone weighs 204. Furthermore I'd place the dummy phone inside AND seal it with the stripes. If for some reason they were to open the box they'd still see an "iPhone". I assume they would not have the time to check it more thorough.

I was also wondering if one should open the amazon box from the bottom for example instead of using the peforated thing which is where it is meant to be opened from. You could then seal it back up with double sided tape for example and it'd look like you didn't even open the amazon box. If everything is done careful I'm sure it would work out.

If It can be done without showing any signs of tampering with the end result, then yes, It's the way to go.

The opening point Is the first thing the Inwards goods department (or whoever Is handling the return) looks at, before processing the claim.

I just tried it out with an amazon box I have here. I believe it's not too difficult to open it carefully with a knife and then seal it back up with double sided tape or some kind of glue. However, if whoever is looking at the box sees that it has been resealed, would that make the return necessarily suspicious? I'd think that he would look at the actual seal stripes a little more thorough and that's it.
Also, if somebody else gets your return then and then tells them that there's not the real product in it, would that give your account an internal flag? While they do not have any evidence against you, if they flag your account and it happens again and maybe even again could that trigger an account investigation?

That's why I mentioned this In my previous post:

Yes of course, and (again) stated In my previous post.

At the end of the day, they'd need solid evidence to take action against you.

When the Item has been returned, placed back Into stock and then picked, packed and dispatched to a given buyer, It goes through so many hands, hence virtually Impossible to pinpoint any wrongdoing to you.

You are talking about this replacement with a dummy one. As I know, new iPhone is in the apple box which is foil-wrapped. Those dummy phones are also in the boxes and the replacement will be one to one?
Of course, we need the Amazon tape too right?

In terms of the sealed box method, simply replace the real phone with the dummy product, and reseal the packaging as per Its original state.
