Interesting Subreddits

Aeolian · 05-12-2019, 01:56 PM

I've just downloaded reddit for the first time ever (i know..) and I'm following absolutely nothing, would anyone be able to list some interesting/helpful subreddits I could follow?

Can be tech, sales, weird shit, nfsw etc. I'm not looking for anything specific however it must be worth reading every day haha!

Thanks plenty.

I'm a big fan of Eli5 (Explain like I'm Five) The craziest things like Dark matter is explained simply which is great.

I personally like reading dumb shit on https://www.reddit.com/r/theworldisflat/. People are sooo damn retarded on there, and it's hilarious. The earth is round and it's spinning on an axis! If you're looking for actual useful information on hacking, go to https://www.reddit.com/r/blackhat/. I head there sometimes and the tools I find are very helpful.

I like debating stuff so r/ChangeMyView, r/TMBR, r/DebateReddit (my sub), and r/UnpopularOpinion (though it has a lot of garbage). Also related is r/ExplainBothSides.

r/dataisbeautiful is kinda neat.

r/Askashittyparent, r/shittyaskscience, r/shittyama, r/shittytil, etc. try to be funny and sometimes succeed. r/facebookscience, r/insanepeoplefacebook, r/insanepeoplequora, and r/vaxxhappened have absurdity.

r/CongratsLikeImFive is nice.

r/UnixPorn, r/UsabilityPorn r/UnixArt for rice.

r/technawwlogy sometimes has cute things.

r/morbidquestions sometimes wastes my time.

r/DebunkThis and r/Skeptic can be alright.

I like r/AskAcademia and r/AskStatistics, but both are more niche than everything else here. (Similarly, r/LaTeX and r/commandline)

r/CasualScience has potential but is kinda dead.

r/Open_Science is eh.

Huge thank you to everyone who's posted so far, I've almost followed every reddit you guys have suggested apart from the nfsw ones.

Yeah I like getting political and debunking idiotic beliefs. I'm provax so I'm not one of those idiots, and you can get near me in public.

There's some subreddits I frequent. I never comment though, I prefer to just read.

It's 4:00 AM right now, and I've just discovered thighdeology...
