Actually a quite usefull solution, but if I'd need bash I'd still rather use a linux distro instead of Windows.
Very usefull nonetheless. Just a quick question, how good is it working? Especially since it's just in beta I'm just wandering whether you encountered a lot of bugs or wasn't it that bad?

Hmm, was convinced before watching this, that it would just be a cleverly titled cygwin. Guess not!
Looks interesting, but I use Windows solely for gaming and linux for everything else. But thanks for the share!

Yeah I agree with you my friend, Linux is irreplaceable. It's just interesting having a bash on windows, you can experiment a little. I tried, and so far it's working properly, I haven't found any bug yet.

Seems like it could be useful, even if it is just a tiny Ubuntu VM. (I think)

Cmder and Cygwin are both better solutions imo. If you're looking for a full suite, Git for Windows provides git, bash, and sh shells and core unix commands, then GnuWin32 and Mingw will provide nearly everything you'll need.
There really is no substitute for Linux, though. If you're willing to go through all this trouble, you may as well dualboot.

Hehe I couldn't agree more, dual boot is better solution way more, I just thought I could make tutorial for those who are interested in how bash works on windows os.
