Back in the day we used MSN (later merged to Skype). I'd also ran an IRC server for a period of time, but it didn't have the same amount of support from members. Unfortunately, Discord has become very mainstream, and our servers generally have >2000 people. I look forward to a more decentralized replacement. Telegram may be an extra option, but it's certain that Discord will see the most use.

Ecstatic to see that Sinisterly is utilizing Discord for another method of communication. Discord is my favourite instant messaging platform, a great way to keep in contact with old friends, as well as to meet new people and make new friends.
