Bought from a billion pound company on ebay, arrived within the last 14 days, I never signed for it or even picked It up myself, it was given to someone else at my house

Cost is around 1k pounds so I'm guessing it's a high value item, brand new etc

How do I keep this, my ebay account is in good standing order, with a £500+ purchase as well done a some long time ago,

They sent it in a box, the box is covered with plastic like shoe box would be, inside the main box is the laptop, it's untouched, I havent even opened it. I need it for school, but it's expensive and I would like my money back, I'm not sure what to do with this particular item,

Then they've basically DNA'd themselves.

The driver's word holds no value when verifying consignments, so as far as you're concerned, you didn't receive the package and still awaiting Its arrival.

i see, but wouldnt the driver get in trouble? also what if they have tracking on the item? since on ebay it says the item has been delivered and received to me, it has, so how would a DNA even work, yes i didnt sign for it or have physically get handed the item but it was given to someone else in my house. However, i MYSELF havent received it, so i get that a DNA could work, but its laptop not a small item

would it be better for me to make use of the leaked battery method? it a laptop so im guessing it would work, i also need to take SE more seriously and get a drop address, and burner etc

You're not the only one claiming non-receipt of goods. Millions (yes "millions") of packages go missing each and every day.

It hasn't been received by "you". The driver could've handed It to anyone within the vicinity of your address, or dumped It at the doorstep.

Tracking/GPS Is useless - It only confirms delivery to an "address", and not to a "person", hence It didn't arrive to "you".

The purpose of the DNA, Is to claim that you're still awaiting the arrival of your package. You're obviously aware that It was handed to a household member, but you keep that to yourself.

When filing a dispute using PayPal's "INR" (Item Not Received), they usually confirm the delivery via tracking and side with the seller. 

Although It can be manipulated, In your case (and given there are alternatives available), It's not worth the hassle.

i will go with the item not received but shall i make a claim on ebay or message the seller?
