Quote:My bank sided with the merchant, because the merchant said "Tracking number shows it was delivered." Which has nothing to due with my item (less than 80grams) not being in it's box.
It's not hard to use common sense, of which your bank has obviously failed to exercise.

Did you explain to your bank that their decision based on the tracking details, Is totally Irrelevant to your claim?

Quote: I even asked my bank what was the weight bestbuy provided for the shipment, and they responded "They didnt provide that information"
My goodness.

Is It that difficult to check the records on the carrier's manifest and get the consignment weight? I do It everyday at work In literally 60 seconds. Tell your bank to do their job and get the details as requested.

Yeah I told them that what they were claiming has nothing to do with my claim, but all they kept saying was "Well Best Buy said." I will dispute again, and maybe this time the person doing it wont be a complete idiot.
Got too many methods, I don't know which one to use today.

What Best Buy has said and what Is In fact relevant, Is totally different.

Your bank has collected details from both sides (the seller & buyer) for a reason and not for good looks, so they should well and truly accurately evaluate the Information given to them.

Best Buy has totally misinterpreted the claim, hence their Incapacity to evaluate It accordingly, has led to the bank siding with the seller.

It needs to be re-assessed by Best Buy for what It Is, as opposed to how they see It.

Well I guess this is my first failed SE, and all because Bestbuy is too supid to know the difference between empty box and package not arriving. To make matters worse they used the dimentional weight of the package to claim the item was in the package when they were supposed to go off the total weight of the product box and its contents. Because when I was at the carrier store they told me bestbuy should have never used the dimentional weight since it has nothing to do with the item itself. They had my package at 1lbs when the weight of the watch and box are no where near that.

Obviously It's the Item (net) weight that's of relevance, and not the shipping (gross) weight.

This Is a total mess on their end. They've Initially declined your claim based on tracking marking It as delivered (DNA-related), but they're also claiming the Item was In the package during transit (missing Item-related). Which of the two are they referring to? It can't be both.

Don't end It here. Escalate It once again (for the 3rd time I believe) with Best Buy, ask them to clearly clarify all the above and most Importantly, reiterate that you've claimed the box was empty - which has nothing to do with their GPS/tracking details.

[/quote]I will make sure to escalate it once again and bring up their statememts that contradict each other and press some more. Also thank you so much for your input, it is always appreciated. I will keep you updated on what happens.

One more thing. Sometimes I want to box them in the future and when they ask where is the item, I'll just say "Well tracking shows delivered" lol

You're most welcome.

Best Buy has clearly mismanaged your claim and declined It on false grounds. They need to wake up to themselves and see precisely what you've claimed - the box was empty when the package was received from the carrier driver. My goodness, Is It really that difficult to understand?

It shocks me too. I was actually astonished at how they couldn't understand such a basic concept of "product box was empty" and kept squaking about how "It was delivered" Seems I just got unlucky with reps with bricks for brains lol. By the way I had a couple successful serial number SE's to take the sting out of this one lol
