How to be an Alpha Male 06-27-2013, 11:01 PM

Did you ever meet a person and instantly felt like you could trust him/her and accept his suggestions?
Well I did.
Back when I first started here, I was really, really unsecure about myself.
I tried my best not to miss ANYTHING that happened, I felt bad about myself and I didn't like me too much.
I never was something like a "Leader" for anyone, always a worker.
I tried some things consciously (wich was kinda annoying in the beginning) wich I still do unconsciously today.
These things really helped me to get out of my depression and nowdays when I meet people they mostly accept me as someone equal, and not rarely as someone superior to them.
In my opinion social engeneering is nice in the cyberspace, but the true potential lies within the real life.
By following some simple Steps you can achieve much more in life, wether it's in your relationship, your job, in school or with your friends. I'm not telling you to "dominate" everyone around you. This would mean that you would become a bad stereotype of a mean supervisor, except that you just behave like one and dont actually have the authority to achieve anything at all with this behavior.
I want you to become (unless you already are of course) a self confident person, and I want you to be able to show other people your confidence in your self!
You will be able to show others with your bodylanguage, that you are strong and confident.
You will also show yourself that you are confident and you will aim for higher goals, and most likely achieve them!
As I already said, bodylanguage is the most importaint factor in this.
Bodylanguage is very complex and very powerful!
You should try to do all the points that i will list below, everyday, all the time!
It will take 1-3 months (at least this is how long it took for me) to get used to it and not thing about it anymore.
After that, things WILL get better.
These are the most importaint things to do:
-MOVE SLOWLY
So simple is that. It sounds very profound but this took me the longest. I used to be very hectic, move my head rapidly very often because i tried not to miss anything.
Alpha males don't do that. Because you are importaint, people have to (and will) talk to you if information is relevant to you. Of course you shouldn't ignore everything people say if they don't adress you directly, I expect you to be smart enough to get my point. But you should try to move more slowly overall, your arms, your head, even your eyes.
-STAND STRAIGHT
Wether you stand somewhere and wait or (and most importaintly) when you walk try your best to have a straight back. This isn't just healthy for your spine, but it makes you also slightly taller. If people don't stand straight they make themselves smaller compared to the person next to them. Our brains interpret this as a sign of weakness, and this doesn't matter if it's you or someone next to you. If you don't stay straight, your brain and the ones of the other people will interpret this as a sign of submission to others. Thus you don't feel confident and people feel superior to you. Try thinking about that everytime you walk somewhere.
-TALK CLEARLY
Try to emphasise what you say. Try to let everything you say sound meaningful. If you tell someone about something you like, it shouldn't sound like some meaningless smalltalk. If you're talking to someone and don't make it sound meaningful, people will lose interest rapidly. It is really hard to explain it properly, but I'll try it:
If you say something and you would set a comma or a full stop, emphasise it by stop talking for about 0.5 seconds.
It shouldn't sound like you stop talking, but this little break will emphasise the importance of what you say. Even if this sounds odd, after practising it a while you will find the right timing. Also you should talk clearly, not too loud, and slightly(!) slower than usual. I tried it alot and I do this unconciously every time I say something importaint. People have to wait slightly longer to get the information that you are about to give to them. This is a minor sign of submission and lets them accept you as a leader. You are importaint, you can take all the time you want! This is basicly the key to all this.
-LEARN
Everyone has a topic he likes. You should find a topic that you like, and like to talk about. It shouldn't be something people might missjudge you for, like E-Whoring, Non-White-Hat hacking, you get the idea. And (i had some bad experiences with that) Psychology. If you start talking talking about Psycology people get afraid, that you could know more about them than they want you to know. This is nothing people want to hear. To me this topic is Physics and the Philosophy behind it. I can talk about it all day, and i know a lot about it and i keep learning new stuff every day! You should find your topic, it doesn't need to be popular, it's even better if it is not, and you should keep learning new stuff about it. Knowing, that you know a lot about a topic, like not just knowing the Technical Terms, but knowing what they mean (wich is rare) gives you confidence and something you can talk about if you don't know what else to talk about (topics like the weather or music are worn out in less than 5 minutes).
-WORK OUT
You should exercise. It influences your bodylanguage directly in a very positive way. After a while you start feeling really good about yourself. You do not need to train multiple hours everyday or get a sixpack, and if you dont lose weight at all, thats okay too. The importaint thing is you DO work out. At least twice a week. Twice a week is okay, 3-4 times is great, 5 or more is excelent.
I hope this helps you. If you want to learn more about this topic, feel free to PM me.
