How to Use ProXPN On Linux via OpenVPN #1
Hello guys, After days of research I came across a method to connect ProXPN via OpenVPN client, The user had this method in a very short way but I'm going to explain it a little bit so that you Understand the whole process,

Before we continue, Be sure you have an account registered on ProXPN

For this tutorial I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 (LTS) so we are going to complete this process in 4 steps:

1) Download and Extract ProXPN
2) Edit Configuration file
3) Install ProXPN
4) Connect to ProXPN server via OpenVPN

1) Download And Extract ProXPN

Go to this link http://www.proxpn.com/ and download the ProXPN executable for Windows, Save it in the downloads folder. Now next step is to extract its contents so Right Click the .exe file and click Extract Here.
Your first step is done, Rename the extracted folder to vpn (Easy to navigate via Terminal)

2) Edit the Configuration File

Now in the same folder that we extracted and renamed to vpn, search for the folder config, Open the folder and you'll have a file named ProXPN.ovpn. Right Click the file and open it with your Text Editor (I'm using gedit)

Search for this line:

Code:
proto tcp

After that line, add the following line:
Code:
remote miami.proxpn.com 443

Save and Close the file, your near completion.

3) Installing OpenVPN Client

Open your Terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T, then gain Administrator rights by typing:

Code:
sudo -s

Then type:
Code:
apt-get install openvpn

After it's installed proceed to the next step.

4) Connect to ProXPN server via OpenVPN

In the same terminal, supposing that you've the vpn folder in the Downloads folder. Navigate to the config directory:

Code:
cd Downloads/vpn/config

We will use the ProXPN.ovpn file to authenticate it with OpenVPN so type:

Code:
sudo openvpn --config ProXPN.ovpn

You'll be directed to enter the credentials of your ProXPN account that you registered in the first place, The clent will then try to connect to the ProXPN server.
If you get this line in the Terminal:

Code:
Initialization Sequence Completed

You've been connected to the server, It doesn't matter if you close the terminal as @Linuxephus said and I've verified it myself, once we have initiated OPENVPN connection, it'll last unless you Kill the task manually.

Problems And Solutions:

1) I can't connect to the ProXPN Server!!! HELP MEEEE!

Ans) The possible problem is that your PPTP port is blocked on your Router, Follow my method http://www.hackcommunity.com/Thread-Tuto...#pid132584 and open the port 1723 on your router for PPTP communication.

2) OpenVPN exits when I give the connect command!!

Ans) Make sure you have admin rights before executing that command via Sudo

RE: How to Use ProXPN On Linux via OpenVPN #9
Confirmed as working flawlessly.
Additionally, I found the problem with a recent update that was forcing me to use Tor, which is not website friendly with constant 303 Errors here.
Meanwhile, the OpenVPN problem was GUI frontend based, so I'll have to patch that when I'm back in Ohio.
My paid VPN works perfectly thru the CLI however, along with ProXVPN of course.
There are a number of other software related items for OpenVPN that can be modified in the same manner to work on Linux even though they're made for the Window's operating system.
I'll make that a project next week when I'm home.

Footnote: Closing the terminal doesn't kill the connection because the connection is kept running in the background along with OpenVPN and the Tunnel Interface created by using ProxVPN in the manner you listed here mate.
@Ex094
Confirmed ProxVPN as now working with all connections being directly routed thru the tunnel your method creates...thru the Basic version.
