How should I best learn Java? 07-11-2018, 05:22 AM

Taking computer science starting in school next year, and we're going to be learning Java. I heard that this CS class is especially difficult and wish to get a head start.
Best free ways to learn Java? I've tried codeacademy but didn't like it too much

I remember when I first took a Java course. The entire OOP concept was not what I expected coming from a procedural language like C so that completely threw me off. If there's one thing I can advise, it's that you need to get that idea in your head. You should be designing your program with respect to object orientation like what objects are responsible for what things and which objects relate and are supposed to relate to each other.

Start learning a site from the list mothered gave you, and if you need any help or have any question feel free to make a thread in the java section here on Sinister, we'll be glad to help you.
Everyone should learn how to code, it teaches you how to think.
You don't have to be a Genius to know how to code you just need to be determined.
The computer is incredibly fast, accurate, and stupid; man is unbelievably slow, inaccurate, and brilliant; together they are powerful beyond imagination.
