For cracking WPA/WPA2 pre-shared keys, only a dictionary method is used. SSE2 support is included to dramatically speed up WPA/WPA2 key processing. A “four-way handshake” is required as input. For WPA handshakes, a full handshake is composed of four packets. However, aircrack-ng is able to work successfully with just 2 packets. EAPOL packets (2 and 3) or packets (3 and 4) are considered a full handshake.

After airodump-ng capture enough encrypted packets , aircrack-ng can recover the WEP key.
You need to have a four way handshake in order to crack wpa/wpa2 pre shared keys.
After that you import the wordlist which will try to crack the wifi passcode.

Bruteforcing process will need years to crack a passcode so the best way to go is with wordlist.
The best way to use brute force is if you know a some hint about the password you're trying to get.
Example: How long is the password ,does it has numbers, %@#& etc..
If you know these things then you could use. Like if the password had letters and numbers in it, and was about 8 length, then you could cut it down and shorten the time span on your cracking.

Bruteforce is a method used by Aircrack. I think you have to read a little so you will understand what I mean. About helping , you are welcome. That's why I am here.
