My brother is very good in programming and if I ask him to code something he just does it out of his head, but how? I know programming is not studying it out of your head but understanding it. But how do I start with this.

How do people learn anything at all? Read about it, learn about it, do it yourself, repeat. Learn to walk before you run.

It depends what you wish to achieve. As a starting point, Python (very easy to learn), JavaScript and C (then onto C++ and C#) will suffice.

In my line of work, I exploit databases on a daily basis, hence both PHP & particularly SQL Is paramount. If you wish to learn PHP, checkout my thread. Every video tutorial Is by the same author and very easy to follow and comprehend.

repetition is key, i code for a living these days, it keeps me sharp. another good way is codewars.com. When I learned, the internet was much smaller and there was MUCH less resources for learning, not to mention PHP wasn't even a thing and we all coded in Perl lol.

There is no secret sauce to programming. There is no secret at all. Read and practice it 3-6 hours a day and youll learn a language within several months. There's books out there. I'm reading C++ primer right now. Spent more time programming today then I should have honestly and it's the stupid simple shit. But I have to practice the stupid simple shit to get really good even if i've done it in the C language, and c is basically the same thing without object orientation. I will still write little while loop statements and for statements. But that's whats going to make me good. Practicing those things.

And don't believe In eBooks titled "Learn (your programming language) In 7 days". That's complete nonsense- you'll never become proficient with everything there Is to know In a space of one week.

Yes, I agree with your point of view there. I have been studying a lot on Programming Languages. It does not take 7 days to learn it well. It will take like 2 or 3 years on studying it well enough.
