If you're already going to make the drive to take it to a store for store credit and the thing holding you back from listing it and selling it is the packing and shipping aspect. Just list it on ebay and use UPS pack and ship, they will handle it for you. Asides from that, there are several places that buyout your electronics and payout cash like Maxoutdeals, you can even drop it off at their locations if you're nearby one of their locations to get paid out on the spot.
But again, you'll get the most bang for your buck listing and selling it even with fees, etc. Most major department stores do keep track of store credit returns, etc. so if you're going to be selling SE'd electronics for the long haul, I would advise more safe methods of making money from SE"d electronics like the ones mentioned above in this post
