How do I trade in Se'd electronics? - nk2333 - 12-31-2024 Is there a way to trade in SE'd electronics for maybe store credit? For example, lets say I have some airpods, or a cell phone or a ps5 and it's sold at a major dept store like wlmart, BB, etc. and I just want store credit so I can buy what I want. Is that possible and relatively easy to do? RE: How do I trade in Se'd electronics? - mcpvperz - 01-01-2025 Why wouldn't you just get cash? Did you buy it from there? Do you have a receipt? Same as any other in store return. Customer service department. RE: How do I trade in Se'd electronics? - Potatoman27 - 01-01-2025 sell the stuff for cash to someone and buy what you want with the money. RE: How do I trade in Se'd electronics? - justforschool7 - 01-01-2025 You can sell for cash on FB Marketplace and then buy what you need RE: How do I trade in Se'd electronics? - nk2333 - 01-01-2025 (01-01-2025, 08:02 AM)mcpvperz Wrote: Why wouldn't you just get cash? I CAN sell it myself. It's more of a hassel/headache and i'll have to eat a % for fees, etc. I know that back in the day I used to be able to go to a dept store like target and say i got it as a present and i don't have a receipt, and they would accept it. Not sure of the policies nowadays but if someone can shed some light on that it would be appreciated. Especially with Christmas just happening. I know that's still something but in this if i can get $100-300 more with no risk why not? Also here's my question.. If the associates start the process and unseal the box to check the contents and assuming the item is real, new and matches the s/n - are they now obligated to accept the return once they've unsealed the box? Not saying it won't happen but here locally the employees do not get paid enough to put in the extra 15 seconds. They are not obligated whatsoever to accept your return either. They can open it and do whatever they want with it and still deny the refund on the basis of whatever they feel. However, even the managers of the store probably would not do that with it just being right after Christmas. Many people lose or forget to bring their receipts for Christmas returns and stores will usually accept the refund. You do have to take into account if the store will do a cash refund without a receipt. A department store I used to work at would not. If someone would bring in something without a receipt, our machine would not let us do a cash refund regardless of it being a general employee or the GM of the store. I would print a fake POP with a receipt printer and bring it to the store. Pretty cheap to buy one and paper; it will grant you more credibility with the cashier even if the receipt won't scan into their system correctly. You would have to do the 2 receipt trick Buy same item cash, return at diff store for cash but show photo of receipt then take back your SE'd same item and return for cash or credit using receipt *of course they could try checking S/N tho so better to just sell for cash |
