In simple phishing, you upload your fake page to some hosting site. And in this case, the url differ from the original facebook.com. But desktop phishing is hosted on your own PC and url is also looks similiar to original domain.

yeah exactly... but you don't have access to that PC, setup static IP and let the victim install hosts file... this will work with lil social engineering.
