How Apple Products Are SE'd 02-23-2016, 02:51 AM

This isn't exactly a guide, just a basic run-down on how they do it. The only issue present is the fact that the charge for the ERS when the replacement is shipped is unknown to me so therefore I cannot actually put it in a real guide for you guys.
Basically, when you get a serial for Apple, usually through eBay and such, you can register that device on your Apple account. You can also find out what warranty / protection plans that device comes with because they are attached to the serial. Under Apple's ERS (Express Replacement Service), if you have Apple Care you can basically get a replacement sent before you send back your device (also known as an AR in other scenarios). Apple places a charge on your card on your Apple account when you first order the replacement. Here's the catch, sometimes companies that do this don't charge the total amount of their product. That's how people got Xbox One's so easily. If you can get a VCC with the hold amount on it and attach it to the account you can in theory get the replacement sent to a drop address under a fake name and then take it home. That way, the company doesn't have your name or address or real credit card information.
Another way people SE Apple is basically by doing this however they box them instead. This has been known to have gotten harder nowadays since Apple had already suffered security breaches due to SE'ing in the past and they have learned from their mistakes.
