House of Marley SE (HELP!) #1
Dudes,  I am losing my shit right now. here's the story        BTW: My friend attempted this too but with cheaper headphones, he got them.

Intro: I was searching for some headphones when I stumbled on to some kind of Jamaican site with, sure enough, headphones, and like the dumbass I am, I scrolled through the list to the bottom where the most expansive headphones were (the Liberate XLBT headphones) and I contacted them complaining about how I was a grandfather who bought his grandson headphones and battery acid was involved and this is how it all went.

Me: Hi, I bought the Liberate XLBT a while ago, but they all of a sudden stopped working after a few months of normal usage.

Them: Hello (name),

Thank you for your email.
We are very sorry to hear about the issue you are having with your product.
In order for us to validate your warranty, please email as much of the following information you can:
Full first and  full last name, complete shipping address, (that is not a PO Box, as we cannot ship to a PO Box), including street name and street number, phone number, and email address
Model number, name, and color of your unit. (Model number can be found on the bottom of the box of your product, example: EM-FH041-MI, or on the inside of the head band on one side near the ear piece.)
The four digit date code that can be found on the side or bottom of the box
The date of purchase
Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know. Thanks again, Consumer Relations

*I skipped all the bullshit and instead emailed them my real address and some fake picture of the box and headphones I found online*

Me: I gave the headphones to my 17 year old grandson to use, but he brought them back a few weeks ago saying that something was leaking from side of the headphone. He said it burned him. I think it was battery acid. I don't have a current picture of the headphones since I put it in the garage, but I can send you a picture of the headphones from when I bought it for him. *pictures attached*

*They didn't respond for a week*

Me: Hello,

A couple day ago I sent you guys an email stating that a pair of your headphones had stopped working and leaked battery acid. Why haven't I gotten a reply? Is this how you treat your customers?

*all of a sudden*

Them: Please send us pictures of the battery acid leak you speak of.

*I know they're starting to suspect I'm SEing them and I don't know if this was the right choice since it's impossible to find these exact headphones leaking battery acid, but...*

Me: I have already disposed of the headphones. It's been days. I can't store a hazard in my garage. I currently have nothing besides the pictures I took of the headphones previously that I already sent you. I got my grandson these headphones for his birthday. Please don't waste my time if I can't get it replaced.

And now I'm still waiting for them to reply it's only been 10 min since I replied and 40 since they last replied

Funny thing is my friend said the same stuff except when he skipped the BS and just sent them fake pics they instantly sent him the headphones without excuse. I really need help can anyone PM me suggestions on what to say next if they reply and if this is the end for me is there any future tips I can use. And not those simple beginner tips. I'm talking savage $500 se typa tips. cheers mates

Whenever you make a statement In your SE methodology, you must have the capacity to back It up. Don't just throw In any claim hoping It'll work- as this may ruin a potential successful outcome.

Each SE Is based on It's merits. Your friend was lucky enough to deal with the vulnerability of the actual employee, hence the replacement headphones with very little effort on your friend's part.

Your next course of action Is dependent on their response.

When you receive It, provide It In this post (verbatim, word for word).

Cool, will do, but just a quick question. What should I do in situations in which the agent asks for the product back. I'm obviously not going to do the box method (takes way too long) and lets assume there's no battery like a tv so no acid leak method. What then?

In this case, you (seemingly) send the product via an untracked service, for example by post.

Post provides tracking (a little more expensive) and non-tracking whereby when using the latter, If the package Is lost In transit, It's whereabouts cannot be Identified hence the Item Is lost. As such as far as you're concerned, you did the right thing and subsequently as far as the merchant Is concerned, they have to do the right thing by you- the customer, and take the next step In fulfilling your request.

I knew I was losing the agent at the end just from what they replied with. If the agent did not add the words "You speak of" I wouldn't have replied with my reason "grandsons birthday" and "stop wasting my time". This I suppose should give the agent only to paths to follow: product or no product (no product if they being unreasonable.) lol SEing is sorta like chess.

So have you received a reply since you emailed them last?

If not, shoot off another "friendly reminder", politely asking where they're at with the replacement. Make sure to Include the term "replacement" In your email- just so they're aware that a replacement Is what you're expecting. The objective Is to get them on your side, empathize what you're going through and finalize your request.

They haven't replied yet. I'd rather wait another day before doing that or it'll make me seem desperate and pushy. What do you think I should say?

"Hello I sent you an email about the Liberate XLBT headphones. I was wondering where your at with the replacement. I don't want to go out and spend another 200 dollars on headphones knowing that they'll break again and it's not replaceable."
good enough?

If you know they'll break again, why would you want a replacement?

At this point they are suspicious. Tread lightly.
Regarding the pictures, just say that you threw the headphones out because of the danger. Emphasis 'how afraid you were'.

I haven't said anything yet. Was just asking if I should send that, but I'm swimming with weights on now. What they say next and what I say next could decide if I get it or not. I can't even make a plan without them replying first. I'll just have to play the waiting game at this point.

Don't elaborate. It can complicate the matter, lead to other questions being raised and subsequently trigger suspicion.

Be comprehensive, yet concise. Demanding, yet subtle. Only provide as much Information as needed to achieve the result. I've already provided with what I believe Is an appropriate response:

Quote:shoot off another "friendly reminder", politely asking where they're at with the replacement. Make sure to Include the term "replacement" In your email- just so they're aware that a replacement Is what you're expecting

Notice the underlined text Is only a few words, yet direct and straight to the point.
