You could say that you noticed what looked like a little crack when first receiving the unit, but thought nothing of it to increase your chances of getting a repair/replacement.

better still, say you got it with the crack, not thinking it would bother you that much, but that you can't stand to even hold the phone anymore because it irritates you to feel it with your fingers.

Does it interfere with your ability to take pictures? Is the crack in the way of the flash or lens in any way?
