Help with Perfume Shop #1
Hi all,

Attempting an SE on The Perfume Shop on a bottle of cologne. I was using a broken glass method for this. I've tried it before with another shop and it worked easily however I'm having a bit of difficulty with this one.

They asked for a video of the broken bottle, which I gave. They're now asking to see all the packaging for the bottle itself and the packaging for the box it was delivered. I've already told them that I still have the box it was delivered in.

Is there something that they're looking for here? Is there anything that I should do before sending them this?

Hey, so I sent them a video of the box that the package came in and sent them a clear photo of the broken glass (used the same sort of photo for a previous SE at John Lewis and that one came through) but these guys keep asking for more photos of the broken glass. I'm a bit hesitant to send them as I'm not sure if they're trying to catch me out here. I mean, the photos I sent were pretty clear. I replied back to the email saying that the last time I handled the product I hurt myself and don't feel comfortable handling it again and reiterated that the evidence I sent through already should be more than clear. But they seemed to just disregard that email and just insist that I send through more photos.

Should I send more photos or stick to the excuse that I've now used?

I can show what I've sent (if that's allowed)

If you still have the broken bottles they wanna see, go for it.
I feel your concern, take your time to make sure it's physically-accurate & believable.
They are probably suspicious, yet asking for more pics is a good sign imo.

If it may bring you some perspective :
I'm currently fighting a store which straight up told me my pics are physically-inaccurate.
(these guys... successfully hit 3 other stores with the exact same pics lmao xD )

You could keep on sending them what they are requesting although id personally just send them a harshly worded email mentioning the consumer rights act 2015 (use an equivalent if you are not in the UK) and their responsibility to deliver a product that is fit for use.

Some websites that I've successfully smashed bottle below.

So do you drop the bottle from 10 feet high or just crack a corner with a hammer?

Is it true https://www.thefragranceshop.co.uk/ makes you send the bottle back?

If i bought an empty bottle and sent them that bottle would it be a problem, like serial numbers or different batches etc,?

Thanks in advance, new to this method of SEing

It is true, fragrance shop have been the only ones that make me return the broken bottle.

I usually put my bottles in a bag and swing them against a rock or a i use a hammer and chisel. My bottles usually end up shattering into a lot of pieces and there's no issue with the customer service thinking in lying. Im pretty sure I switched the batch stickers in my bottle although I doubt they are really looking through a box of broken glass to find the serials/batches of bottles.

If fragrance direct are asking for pictures of the broken perfume (shattered pieces in a bag) and the perfume packaging (tin) and the delivery parcel, should I comply and break up the parcel/perfume tin or just show more pictures of the perfume that is shattered into pieces

Thanks
