All the best with the SE.
update: today I had day off and went to ikea store to see if there were circumstances to follow the method of @futterbuckz
and honestly it’s seems pretty easy, the automatic cashier agents don’t care about anything and don’t even lookin at customer screens, they just be standing there for support and nobody checking receipts
so next weekend i’ll go back to proceed with the SE

I took couple pics of items worth 20/30€ to print and then switch at the store.
can you confirm i just need to cut only the part of the bar code or all the paper stripe.
Link of pics i took:

Last advice: be ready to quickly and discretely rip off your makeshift barcode in case you get caught. Some stores have cameras over the cash registers, be aware of that too. Exit quickly after paying. Refrain from coming back for a month or two.
okk great, this is the only ikea store in my region and is also the biggest one in italy so i’d be scared to comeback but i won’t need it so
im just hoping everything gonna be ok

That’s correct. Make sure the size is proportional to the barcode you’ll be taping yours over.

Ideally you would only use barcodes from regular (non seasonal) items that come in cardboard boxes, and ideally the shape/number of boxes would resemble the ones from the item you’re SEing — i.e. don’t try to pull a sofa with a lamp barcode.
great i appreciate all the support
i thought about this too btw everything need to be a bit balanced

Give me a hint on where that store is located, it's probably not the same one I go too, but in case it is they might amp up the security after your hit

Edit: nvm, google the biggest IKEA store, I'm safe

i went to the ikea store in padova.
they might but i checked and tried the new function that you pay in automatic cashiers after you already scanned the products barcodes with your phone then you can simply pay through qr code in a few seconds, you can see details of this on their app.
(this is useful to speed up the purchase and exit without any suspicion)

Ah yes, I literally heard about that the other day while I was shopping there, but I guess there might be a random chance to be stopped for a cross check, as it happens in other self-checkout stores (like Conad)
It wouldn't be a problem if your barcode is perfectly printed and stuck on the package though, it's not like they can know what's in every cardboard box, they have to trust the label

RE: Help with Ikea SE #26
I would have in your mind, what you are going to say if you get cross checked or something. Meaning you have it for the lower and the catch it for the higher price. I would be like hey this is what it's priced it ain't my fault. Whatever it is , practice in your mind what you are going to do just in case. Be calm and stick to your plan. Try not to carry extra supplies or labels or tape with you or ditch that stuff, so nothing is on you to incriminate you.

Dress well and act proper. Don't panic. At worst have a way to pay for the other more expensive item.

If it was shipped in so many boxes, what's the return policy on that? Could remove the goods and repack and seal with junk that weighs the same. I'm curious about what what they would do if you said it's all messed up, they going to make you send the whole thing back? Or just resend a new one (12). Or DNA

I'm just worried about cameras or being in-store caught. Have the $$ on you to pay full and no extra supplies. Play stupid and say you thought it was a discount coupon or barcode that you got with a discount. I'm trying to cover any angle. Dressing well and having the money in case, may be a life saver.

Good luck, be calm, plan for everything.

they’re return policy is favorable
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/customer-serv...ns-claims/

anw 3 packages of the 12 weighed so much
but still exaggerated and if i return it 100% they will check if everything is okay.
in store i don’t nothing really bad would happen but it can depends on how i’d get caught, body language and what i’d say to them

I agree with you, was just curious, seems like your best way to go is inside. Though 12 boxes seems a lot, I now want to try at least something close. I want to look into a similar situation. I appreciate your info and input. I'll be watching so keep us updated, no rush obviously, which I was going to mention, if there is a busier time to go, or a better time you know, everything you can to succeed.
