I'm Rivalry. I'm 16, from the UK, and I go to a private school where I have a scholarship for English. I'm taking my GCSEs right now (in fact, at the time of writing I have 3 left) and operate under a work hard, play hard philosophy. You don't get any more information about me personally, as this isn't Facebook.
I have 3 great loves on the internet; films, music and graphics. Gaming is okay, but I've gone off it a lot over the last few months. All the work for my GCSEs made me realise that I don't really care about it too much. The internet is a place to relax. I do not understand forumers who post 90000 times a day on every thread, and get upset at drama in the community. I'd far rather be known as a lurker or LQ than a super HQ active postwhore. I only post when I can add something witty to proceedings, or when I can contribute something to discussion. Often, I go afk on forums, so my time online is very large on places like LF, even though I barely post.
Films. I watch a lot; it's my staple evening routine, along with facebook, and I have seen a lot of good ones. My favourites would probably be films which make you think about them for months afterwards; like Moon, Fight Club and United 93. I also dabble in foreign films, like Die Welle (The Wave) and Der Pianist (work it out). On the whole these are great, and I really love German made war films; it's so interesting to see the other perspective, and I find them better than US war films on the whole.
Music? I listen to music all the time when on my PC, and have a really wide ranging taste. My main playlist has stuff from Bowie, Numan, Deadmau5, Pendulum and Parov Stelar. MrSuicideSheeep posts great stuff on YouTube too. Music is really great- it helps me work on graphics, concentrate, and just puts me in a great mood when I'm stressed from work or whatever. My favourite songs right now are probably Forever by Rogue and Moss Garden by David Bowie. Listen to both and then tell me my taste isn't varied. My dad brought me up listening to so much music which has been so influential on my life. I don't think anyone would get the significance the tracks hold, but they're so nostalgic. Low, Space Oddity, and Heathen are great albums by Bowie, The Pleasure Principle and Replicas by Gary Numan/Tubeway Army, and Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. I never really appreciated it at the time, but the amount of influence these tracks have had on my life is astonishing.
Graphics. I do graphics, every day. I recently got into GM on LF, and this is the peak of my career. I find it fun to do, and also a useful life skill, I guess. I've posted a little bit here, but not as much as I should.
That's a bit about me. I've been here for a little while now, just not made a thread. Blue seems like a very friendly owner, and I think DZ can go places as soon as a good non-LFish theme is acquired.
