This was about 3 hours of work and some more time before hand planning out what I wanted to do.

I like the amount of detail you put into it as well. How long have you been doing this for and how do you do this as a job etc? All in all this is quite amazing.
Been doing art my whole life, graphic design for 10 years, and illustrations just for the past few years.

It always intrigues me how you work and decisions you make.

Where'd you get this idea from? Why did you chose those colours? When the average person thinks of "shading", they simply go dark to light or vise versa, but your pieces rarely seem to do that. Instead you achieved that effect with what seem like warm and cold colours. Although, I know the yellow is lighter than then purple in tone, it's still a really interesting method. Those colours kinda go against what I would want to choose, but they seem such successful picks as they give your work that nice "mood".
I got the idea from just thinking about what i wanted to make next and googling some portraits of people. I was in a rough mood that day so i wanted to get it out into a project.
The colors just sort of happened as they did, I knew i wanted something abstract but wasnt sure where I was going to go with it.
thank you very much for your feedback, I do appreciate it.

Sounds very much like you did it from instinct then! I'm guessing it works out so well from years of practice. Nice job. Don't stop sharing, you make me want to get back to my art.

This is true. I need to finish a tattoo design for somebody, then I'll try and do Akane. You might have to bug me and remind me!
