HP Laptop SE 05-02-2020, 08:03 PM

I'm new to SE and I want to do my first successful one. I genuinely have an HP Omen laptop within warranty. I also actually have a couple of issues with it and I am gonna contact support. The problems are easily fixed by replacing the keyboard and I can easily do that. I can also lie and say I get random shutdowns to make my situation direr. My plan is to contact them saying it broke and stuff and I will actually have stuff like vids and POP because I actually bought it. I will tell them due to COVID I can't send it because I need it for work/school. My guess is they will ask for POP and vids/pics and I will send the real ones. After that, with some persistence, they will say that they will send me a new one. They might ask me to send my old one back and bill me if I don't, and my plan for that is to use a privacy card. If there are any improvements that could be made or mistakes I made I would really appreciate the help. I am doing this for my first SE because I don't have to fake anything and everything I am going to as technically isn't lies so it would be easier than an average SE

HP shouldn't be that hard to AR but I've only got experience with monitors. They do indeed bill, use a drop.

Massive success! I told them exams were the week after next week and I only have that laptop and have no other alternative. I told them the exams were online and told them they could even send me a bad computer temporarily. The rep then told me he can't send out a replacement because the computer needs to be sent back first, and if only my keyboard was really broken, he could send me an omen external keyboard and after exams, I send the PC back, he even said I could keep the keyboard after exams as a sorry from them. I was considering this but decided to push and see if he would send me a replacement. He then put me on hold and after 2 minutes he said he would have sent me a replacement first, but there is no stock, so there was no go. He then finally put me on hold for 5 mins and said there was a slightly upgraded model, and he will send that. He did not even ask me for a credit card or any pics or POP! The only info about the system I had to give was the S/N, specs and problem. I felt on a roll, and tried SEing Seagate and idk if I got lucky or what, but I SE'd a 2TB SSD for only $13 which is the price of AR. I was unable to talk him down, so I just made a Privacy card with a $14 limit and used it. What I learned about SE is
1. Whenever a rep says nothing can be done, that's not true.
2. Always have a convincing story with no inconsistencies or contradictions
3. Phone Support > Live Chat.
4. Make the rep feel for you
5. Act helpless, but not like a baby. Basically submit to the reps mercy.
6. Always be nice!!!!!!! If you are nice, the rep is nice and is far more likely to help you out
I plan to get all the details of an Alienware laptop and it's the owner and try a similar SE later down the line
