I had a feeling he were doing so, but it's kind of hard to recognize sarcasm on the internet. Besides, the amount of misguided script kiddies on the internet is a lot. So I normally presumed that he infact were serious about what he said.

Sometimes I can't help but give a serious response to a sarcastic one either. Sarcasm isn't portrayed particularly well on the internet, so you never know. @Dyme is particularly bad at making it known when he is being sarcastic.

I recommend checking out learn C the hard way and just do as many of them as you can over the next couple days. If you've programmed before, you can get a grasp of C after a few hours.
