Provided It suites your overall usability, there's no right or wrong.
I don't mind Linux but for compatibility purposes (tools etc), the Windows platform Is a must for me.

Congrats mate! Once my new SSD arrives I will also be installing Arch or a custom Linux distro. I'm quite done with Windows, though I might keep a Windows partition or a seperate hard drive.
