Goodbye Windows - Inori - 06-27-2017
Since my Windows partition is fucked and just letting it sit there is a waste of 900 GB, I finally backed up, deleted all the Windows-related partitions and EFI files, and resized my Arch partition. Goodbye broken Microsoft shit, hello 1 TB of Linux
Edit: Steam works like a charm on Arch even with no official support from Valve

Hell yeah. If I had a proper setup and when I get a stable wired network connection, I will be making the plunge to full Linux. Congratulations on freeing yourself from the plague.

I'm considering my next purchase which will hopefully be a desktop, to run Linux exclusively. But, don't get me wrong, I love windows 10 (and java so you guys can really hate me). My main concern was with any difficulties with Steam and playing online games on a Linux platform, although I've read several distros handle it quite well.

It was a huge pain to set it up.
First I installed it on my 32bit box: "The 32bit version does not support browsing" and let's face it, the steam client is just a big browser...
Ok I'm going to install it on my 64bit box - I tought to myself.
Having issues while installing: "WTF?! It requires 32bit libraries on a 64bit OS? You must be fucking with me right now..."
Pulled some libs from debian repo, steam finally launches!!!
15 minutes later, kernel panic - FUCK!!!

Ouch. The only notable thing on the Arch wiki was a note that said you need the multilib repo, which kind of makes sense? I don't know why mixing x86/x86_64 is even a thing though.

Welcome to Linux! Steam does work like a charm on Arch. Right out of the box it works on Manjaro too. It was a pain getting Steam configured on Ubuntu.
