I recently had to install WinXP(32bit) on a laptop I bought for $7. Haven't used XP in a very long time.

It plain out looks old. It has the look and feel of "Legacy."
And unless you download your graphics driver and get the max resolution possible, it's out right unusable and horrible. (Personal experience)

But beyond that, it's kinda nice.. I like it, in a way.

What are your guy's personal experience with Windows XP? Good? Bad?

For It's time, It was an excellent OS- pertaining to both It's overall stability and functionality.

I really enjoyed customizing It (Inclusive of an unattended setup) by removing features, components etc that were not to my liking. I also Implemented a WPI (Windows Post Install) by adding software that users can opt to Install during the format process.

Fair enough with your CPU not supporting the 64 bit architecture. My offer of XP was/Is there In case of need.

Every OS Is exploitable, some more so than others. For testing and customization purposes, I also ran XP on a VM , namely Virtual PC 2007 back then. Nowadays, given my CPU well and truly supports SLAT (Second Level Address Translation) Inclusive of the edition of Windows, I use the native VM being Hyper-V and VMware Workstation on other lappies.

On your Windows 10 machines, what specs are they running?

I can barely remember using XP the short periods of time I did (I was rather young back then). When it came out, it was good for what it was. Nowadays, ofc, we have far better. I also really miss windows 7, but conformed to win10 on my main machine too xD

Got three laptops.  My first and only laptop I've built, is running XP SP3 x86,and still running strong.  Getting harder to keep the old thing alive, but my wife loves the damn thing until the LAN PCCARD won't pick up fU(***# wifi. Then she goes for MY Windows 10 x64 laptop (Preloaded,no CD-ROM drive). And then there's the bastard child laptop running 7 SP1 x86 THAT WILL NOT TAKE ANY KIND OF G.D. UPDATE.  It constantly crashes to blue screen.   Constantly in safe mode w/networking to trouble shoot the dang thing. I Still HaveNoF#*(ingClue!!!

Simply hit a clean Installation of Windows and be done with It. In scenarios like this, It's not worth diagnosing and trying to fix the said Issues.
