My friend was dicking around playing Duelyst in Latin (which is cool, because that means our school hasn't blocked it yet), and it looked pretty cool, so I decided to check it out. It's been ~4 days, and I've already hit silver in ranked.
Needless to say, Duelyst is addicting as fuck. The mechanics (not the actual ingame ones, but everything else) play exactly like Hearthstone; you have spirit to make cards, different factions have different powers, you open spirit orbs to get new cards, etc...
Ingame, though, it's a new world. You have a 9 x 5 board to play on, a general to protect, and the enemy's to destroy. You do this with minions, walls, spells, and artifacts (which can be chained [Songhai FTW] to deal shittons of damage).
A prime difference between Duelyst and Hearthstone, for those who've played, is the card costs. Common and Rare cards have the same creation costs, and Rare has the same disenchantment yield, but Common yields 10 spirit instead of 5. Epics cost 350 instead of 400, still yielding 100 spirit, and Legendaries cost 900 compared to 1600, and yield 350 spirit. The drop rates for higher rarity cards is also far higher, evident with me getting a Legendary every fiveish packs.
All in all, Duelyst is awesome. Get it, and if you want, say Puce referred you. Back to the grind!

It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.
