Dodging investigations 08-04-2023, 04:33 PM

Hello, I did some SE on Amazon.de recently, the item was nvme ssd, about 140 euro worth, but I got a message from rep that "you will get the refund I promise, but you have to wait for a letter from our team" , some minutes passes and bam an email stating that I need to fill a PR. I did some investigation dodging in the past and I think it's just that some reps don't want to give it that easily and that's it. But will closing the chat or just saying that I don't want any investigation would help and the other rep would give me the refund without problems? Because if I order 5x nvme SSD's, one of them has this problem and it's getting annoying and I'm thinking that I could solve this and I have only this idea. Would be great to hear your opinion.

Behind their computers they have their protocols, and if it says that for approving your Apple refund (as example) a PR is mandatory, they will not grant you a refund unless you comply with it; same story with investigations, you may dodge it sometimes, probably in relations to the item price/your account good standing, but if their protocol request to investigate it with the carrier, they must do it. To avoid it, you should be very manipulative and even at that I don't know if they could do it.
Telling the rep you don't want an investigation opened, is a bit like to say to a police officer on a road check, that you don't want to be checked for alcohol; may work in 0,001% of the cases in my opinion

I'm thinking now about just closing the chat option. Or just pushing and saying that it's a present blabal and I can't wait for that time, in the past I had luck and one of the agents gave a refund on the chat instead of the letter to email. But I think the problem it's something do with my addresses, I used recently the ones that I jigged a lot and there were refunds done in the past, I try doing fresh ones now.

I've been able to avoid the Amazon PR because of my location. The police service around me essentially refuses to communicate with Amazon so it's fairly simple.

But if they refuse to communicate then you wouldn't get a refund? Like they call the police to confirm the police report.

If the police are unwilling to communicate, they have no choice but to provide a refund.
Interesting information, but I am ordering from Amazon with no mine credentials, so filling a PR would not work for me.

So the answer no, even closing the chat you can't avoid the investigation, I tried today, still got a PR.
