Discord Ban in Philippines #1
On September 23, 2026, Discord was temporarily blocked in the Philippines following an order involving the NTC and CICC.

Authorities raised concerns about child safety, grooming, and Nihilistic Violent Extremism (NVE) on the platform. Discord was also asked to establish a stronger presence and cooperation channel in the Philippines.

The ban lasted only several hours. On September 24, 2026, the CICC announced that the ban was lifted after talks with Discord and commitments to strengthen child safety measures.

More "age verification" requiring IDs, which inevitably get stolen. Stop electing people that don't understand technology.

Even as a kid 15-20 years ago, I knew to change my DNS or use a VPN. Does that need to become the new norm?

It's not popularized now and they're waiting for the next biggest data breach for their kid's information to be stolen and used by people online or for pedophiles to find information on their children.

Ironically it's not the kids that are going to be targeted, it's the average consumer or web-surfer that provided KYC.

Everyone has to bend the knee to cover for subpar parents. Just watch what your kids are doing online. Parents are treating computers like babysitters.

Philippines society is generally a trainwreck. The literacy rate for this year's graduates was historically low.
