So if I just edited an Amazon order confirmation email for example, I can send that to them? Will it matter that the order number on the confirmation email will show for a different item, or would they even check that?

This is my first ever SE. I read mother reds blog and found a SN on eBay  for an HP laptop and went ahead with the “smoking battery, disposed of and bin men have emptied etc” story.  After a lot of back and forth between the agent and me, they put me through to their supervisor and they  are asking for an invoice no/order number to confirm ownership. I said this was a birthday gift from my aunt and uncle. Is this SE dead or is there still a chance? What should I reply with?

Status update? If they dont check invoice and require you to ship the item, your best choice if FTID or LIT. You can pay a boxer for that .

The blog is now private .. I was reading through it before it was. I should of been more clear in my original post.

@Alexinoo nothing as of yet. Going to send them the fake invoice later on today. In hindsight I probably should of don’t FTID or LIT in the first place when they originally requested it, but I have already said the item has been thrown away. Will update everyone when I get a reply

Device has been registered/added to the dell account of the device owner. You can try to email to the guy from eBay asking for the phone because you are interested to buy or something. You will get info they asked. Think!

I’m going to say I couldn’t get it off my auntie (being that she’s unwell in hospital) do you think that’s ok ? I fake a receipt?

As per your comment below, are they only requesting a POP and not the return?

I’m at the current stage, where they have requested order I’d/invoice etc to prove ownership, as clearly I can’t provide them with pictures of the laptop or the laptop itself.
