DNA - who pays? 07-13-2023, 01:43 PM

disclaimer: this is not about legal repercussion or SE probability: simply about my own personal SE ethics.
we all SE for different reasons, it is not my place to judge other people.
personally i draw the line at SEing the big corporate stores, never small business owners or regular folks selling on ebay.
and i include delivery truck drivers in this category.
it got me thinking about DNA as some here reported about the delivery driver knocking at their door claiming that they have to pay for it.
i guess it depends on the carrier policies but i can completely see how the carrier making it the responsibility of the driver for not sticking to the rule book by getting that signature, taking the picture with customer holding the parcel or making the effort to redeliver/divert the package, etc...
can anyone verify the carriers' policy regarding DNA? which carrier are insured against such inevitability as DNA and which makes the driver pay?
