DNA - Broken?, also how to SE GPUS? #1
Lately DNA hasn't worked for me, whether it's because I'm doing something wrong or because companies are getting savvy I don't know, but they just deny it and tell me to call the post office and get a signed document from them stating it's their fault. Or they ask for PR, which I can do, but I have already done once with my local PD and it took forever, basically not even worth getting the refund.
Another time the people from royal mail straight came to my door and sob storied me. My dad was shitting himself about it, (pussy lol) so I made up more bs and just cancelled the claim.
Another company just said they'd be contacting fedex and every once in a while i get and email from fedex and them with basically no info. Seems dead.
Amazon also caught my account so they wont refund or anything anymore lol, made a new one, getting some history on it.
I don't really know what method to do for a GPU. the warranty method never works, it's extremely rare and based on stupidity if it does, so maybe DNA but it depends on which company delivers it, and 99% of them use tracking, signed on delivery, proof pictures, gps etc, so there's basically no claim to make, as they always say "it was delivered"
And also I'm worried about the S/N being tracked on the GPU if I were to do that method.

They're all a useless form of verification.

Tracking/GPS only confirms delivery to an "address" and not to a "person". As for a signature, who's to say It belongs to you? Anyone could've signed, even the driver - of which FedEx & DHL are both guilty of It.

Quote: as they always say "it was delivered"
And?

What If the driver dumped It at the doorstep and someone stole It? Does It conclude you personally received the package? Evidently not.

O
Sure, you can claim that it wasnt delivered to you but if the driver went to your house as confirmed by GPS, it's highly unlikely that nothing happened, sometimes even if you persist and persist they'll flat out ignore you if you don't have evidence. EG I tried DNA with GFuel and their exact messages were

Hey there,

This order has a confirmed delivery to the address entered at checkout. Please contact the delivering post office as they may have additional information. Once an order has a confirmed delivery there isn’t much we can do, we do have a proof of non-delivery form if completed we can issue a refund or reshipment as per our policy.

For International shipments, please click here for the Proof of Non-Delivery form.

Track and Trace - Track your Item | Royal Mail Group Ltd

- I told them they'd have to do that (which they would) And they just said sorry we cant do anything without the form and closed the case. Basically gg

I have a bit of trouble with this. This sets the blame on the courier, the delivery driver themselves that worked minimum wage probably to hand deliver it to your door, setting them out of a job and or causing them to get a strike of sorts. Social engineering for me and most others is set to fuck over the corporations, what exactly happens to the delivery guy??

The driver's word and presence holds no value when verifying shipments, nor does tracking/GPS for the said reasons above.

I 100% agree that every SEing activity should not affect anyone on a personal level. In fact, I've written a few In depth articles on my blog pertaining to carrier drivers and the like.

However, you're not responsible for the driver's actions - leaving the package unattended.  If he did his job and requested a signature, It would be a different story altogether. Moreover, you have no control of how his employer handles his day-to-day affairs, and whether or not he'll be reprimanded.

As social engineers, we still hit DNAs when signatures are requested. I've always supported DNA'ing receipt of goods under such circumstances.

A one-off Incident would not affect the driver, personally. If It's the same driver servicing your deliveries on a regular/consistent basis, and you take advantage of It by repeating your actions, It may well and truly have a significant Impact on his position. As such, I strongly advise against SEing In that manner.
