DNA Adidas EU DPD #1
Hello,
TLDR: Does adidas [EU] start investigation involving getting in touch with DPD?

I've been lurking this board for quite a while and today is the day I needed to create account in order to gather more information.
Recently I ordered a pair worth approx. 200EUR sneakers off adida s.com. Weight of the package is about 1kg.
The order has been delivered to my apartment by my local DPD guy who is a friend of me and my family.
I can't risk getting him into trouble over the order and I'm okay with disregarding SEing this specific order using the DNA method. Although it is quite tempting since the package was delivered onto my doormat and left without noticing me in any way.

But I have one question to ask which is does EU Adidas start investigation involving contacting delivery company (DPD)?
My approach to this SE is to wait until Monday and give Adidas CS a phone call asking where my package is and why it is marked as delivered despite me not receiving the package.
My adidas account has some history on it, but I reckon it won't matter that much (few legitimate returns).
Kind regards,
Thearde

Can't confirm for Europe or DPD, but I can confirm that there was an investigation for me, not too long ago. (Adidas, DNA)

As per your comment below, are you not disregarding the DNA?

I've heard horror stories of dpd and DHL drivers coming to the house when an investigation has started. I would personally avoid that, that's why I don't do dna. Literally every courier has the same driver in my area and a lot are friendly, so don't want to sour that relationship. Speaking of adidas, I just got my 500 pounds refund with thr ftid method, so that's something you could do.

Absolutely.

SEing events should never Impact drivers on a personal level.

Perhaps of the fact that English is not my first language I did not make my intents clear.
I didn't mean that I am in absolute opposition to the DNA method in this specific case, it was more important to find out if any of the forum users might have been in a similar situation to me, and whether Adidas contacted the courier company in their cases.
The way I see it, the DNA method is still on the table and if my delivery guy shows up (and he will because only 1 person is responsible for deliveries from DPD in my area and the company is frequently used by merchants from which I buy on a regular basis) and will start to ask me wtf happened to the package I can abort the SE and legitimately return the order under some story that the package was eventually found at my neighbors house (so no consequences to the worker).
I have whole Sunday to think about it and research similar threads on board and posts on your page but there is quite a chance I will proceed with the SE.

wtf i closed the thread by accident, sorry

Given It's the same driver servicing your deliveries, It's not good practice to DNA It, Irrespective of whether or not he asks questions.

No problem at all.

Well it's been a few days and I am updating my case.
I chose not to pursue DNA in this case. I feel that a great relationship with a courier from one company can be more useful later, and the mere 200EUR that I could get cannot compensate me for the deterioration of this relationship.

Now I am considering switching to the boxing method / dry ice method. From my point of view, more than 1kg of dry ice in a box dropped off at the parcel collection point is enough. However, there is no weight control at the point where I would leave my package for pickup by the courier service. And since there will be no record of the weight of the package I seemingly returned, they(Adi/DP*) may think that no goods were stolen / lost in transit and I sent them an empty box.
Any thoughts?

Weights and dimensions will be taken at the carrier's depot, for both record keeping and cost of freight.
