Currys Sending form help #1
I recently SE’d an apple watch from currys using the contents of the box missing method. I then got in touch and they had claimed on the livechat that they’ll be issuing my refund. But ive just received an email claiming the following:

Dear Customer,

“We have received your Confirmation of Sending form, however, we are unable to accept this as the document has not been signed.

Please print, sign, date and resend by one of the following methods:”

First of all, whats a sending form? And on the pdf attached to the email which i am supposed to complete it states police involvement and security loss team etc… i dont want to continue with the SE if filling this out will cause me issues

Any help or advice guys? Many thanks!

It's basically to say you acknowledge that Currys has the right to launch an investigation against the shipping company and internally to verify how your product was lost. It is a normal process for all Boxing/refunding processes and pretty standard.

Although this is a standard process, don't forget that what you are doing is illegal and could have consequences. Currys are just covering their ass should they find something fishy about your refund.

Great help! Thankyou for that information. Just strange because last time I se’d currys for the same reason and similar item (this time its higher value). They did not ask for me to sign a form and just issued me a refund

As long as It's not an affidavit (which Is legally binding), you can go ahead and sign It.

Thanks for your reply @mothered, would you be able to tell me how i am able to point out whether its an affidavit or not? It asks me to fill out the following:

Full Name:
Order Reference:

(Example CUR / PCW / EBY / CIR)
DD Collection reference(s):

(Example 0000 000 000)
Collection Address:

Product(s):

Declaration
I can confirm that the product(s) were passed to a DPD driver or returned to
designated DPD pick up shop.

I confirm that I am happy for DSG Loss Prevention and security teams to share
information regarding this matter and to report it to the Police if appropriate.

If the matter is reported to the Police, I am willing to assist in this matter.

There's no mention of declaration of truth, such as any false statements may be used as evidence to pursue the matter further, so It's fine to sign It.
