Creating custom command prompt commands (Windows) #1
The basics:

It sounds complicated but it's pretty much the easiest thing in the book.

If you know how to code batch (which, if you're a windows user, you should), start by making a simple program and try to avoid excessive I/O as well syntax-dependent code.

After you've made your program, all you need to do is put it in your system32 folder (C:\Windows\System32).

When that's done, start command prompt (Admin) and enter the name of your program without .bat on the end.

Some examples:

I have a few examples if you need any ideas/clarification on the subject

Netflix:

You read that right. All it does it gives you a little message, opens another cmd window and redirects you to netflix.

netflix.bat
Code:
@echo off echo Netflix: redirecting start http://www.netflix.com

Insulter

It just swears at you.

insult.bat
Code:
@echo off echo fuck you

I'm sorry, but why would anyone ever need to know this?
I understand you're trying to share shit, but there's no practicality to this... I just, don't quite understand the point in this.

It's a basic concept that can be used for greater things.

There's programs out there; gifsicle, aircrack-ng, rainbowcrack, that all run off the same principle.

The ones I shared are stupid little 3 second projects but the things you can do with it are essentially limitless.

All I'd like to say is that there's a difference between being redirected and being directed.

Fair point.
But how many people would use a script I threw together in 10 seconds and trust what it says/does?

I don't know, I doubt they use batch files to run, especially on Linux.
For anyone that doesn't know, this works because on Windows, system32 is added by default in your PATH.
You can add any folder you want to your PATH, like I did with my Linux files compiled for Windows.

And then you can access them from anywhere in CMD.

Basically the same thing in Linux.

Aircrack run off of batch and exe; RCrack runs of batch; plus one exe, and gifsicle runs exclusively off batch.

It's a good point, though. CMD.exe works off of whatever .exe or .bat files are contained in %cd% (your current directory).
