I know using a VPN can add a second layer of protection when using TOR but I don't really trust any third parties unless I have complete control over the server I'm passing through at least that way you can erase logs if needed.

I'm deploying my own VPN with x4-encrypted on my server and use it. VPN providers are not trusted even they say they're not logging but they do

I wouldn't recommend anyone connecting to the TOR-network with their own IP, but it's a good thing you mentioned it. I have to use TOR today for some testing, so it's great you gave a heads up about this. Thank you!

This ^^^

I've always stood by the fact that VPNs who state they do not keep logs, do log activity to some degree. It's within their Interest to see what's going on with users utilizing their service. Their terms of service are there so users are In compliance and If they don't keeps logs, how are they expected to know when their terms are breached.
