Just imagine something that you want to make and do it, if you want to create a forum on your own, do it, that's the way which should work for you.

Generally, yes, it does. But the projects don't and can actually be quite difficult at times. For example, take the Broadway project in the Ruby on Rails course. Instead of telling you to type in get 'pages/home' => 'pages#home' in routes.rb, they tell you to "map the request for the url /pages/home to Pages controller's home action." Rather than just have you paste in a snippet of HTML/CSS, they just tell you to add a menu and style it . (etc.)
