Coding, programming. - Mars_mybb_import13750 - 08-08-2015

I have always been fascinated and interested by/in coding. I wonder where you started and where the best sites to learn is. Already done some codecademy courses last year or so and might do them again.

I need new sites because codecademy tells you what to do and that isn't learning.

And can you show me your work and what channel/videos?

I would suggest you to pick a language first, depending on what you want to do (Java for Android, Swift for iOS, PHP for web applications, etc) once you learn the basics about the language you might want to try out some frameworks if those are available in that language, if you picked up PHP you could try CakePHP, CodeIgniter, Laravel, Symfony, etc.

If you don't know what language to learn, I would suggest you Python, because it's very human readable, and if you're interested in building web applications you can continue using Python with it's framework Django.

If you've got any question feel free to ask.

I forgot to tell you this, but read, the more you read the more you know, it doesn't matter if you're learning RoR and you find a nice AngularJS entry on a blog, read it, "the quieter you become, the more you're able to hear".

And of course, the best way to learn how to code, is by coding. If you have ever had a dream of creating a game/application/website start to create it, if you find problems https://google.com is your friend, if you have a Facebook account join programming groups, you can stay up to date with technologies because they talk a lot about them, learn how to use Git, contribute to repositories, as I said, the way to learn is to code.

I would physically purchase books and read them. I don't like watching YouTube videos, due to the fact they wouldn't tell you the whole fundamentals.
Those who made the videos didn't explain World Wide Web Consortium, and how important it was.

I prefer getting an education about programming from Lynda.com , EliTheComputerGuy.com & of course Codecademy.

When I think of books and coding, I think that it's just not going to work out. Codecademy learned me some stuff, but it always reveals everything and tells me what to do exactly. Giving me easy tips so it's easy to finish it and not good for people who are in the process of learning. Currently, I am looking for free courses, so if elithecomputerguy and lynda is, then i'll go for those.

Thank you for your comment and everyone else.
