I reside in Australia and have ordered spicebomb extreme. I was planning on doing broken bottle method as the TOS states that “ If item has been broken during delivery, please keep all packaging, including the packaging it was sent it. City Perfume will require images of the broken item and the relevant packaging. City Perfume may require you to take the entirety of the parcel, including what it was sent and wrapped in, to a post office for further inspection.” I already have have the MUB perfume refill tool on hand and a spare bottle to relocate the cologne with, show do you think I should smash the bottle so that it looks believable?
(I want to keep the bottle as I could use it for another SE)

Spicebomb bottles are borderline impossible to smash which is ironic since it's a grenade shaped bottle. I think I managed to smash it by putting it in a bag and swinging it at a sharp rock pretty hard until it broke. It broke into a lot of pieces but it really doesn't matter how it looks, as long as it is broken the customer service should accept it and give you your refund.

So how would they believe that it smashed upon delivery?

Holy its definitely not smashing through the package they gave it in! There was 3 layers of bubble wrap and theres no way theyd believe it could be smashed through all of that! What do you guys suggest?

Yep, it's not very believable especially with all the packaging bottles usually come in, but what can they say? They can't prove it wasn't broken in shipment so they have no choice but to refund you. I've done quite a few smashed bottles, although I am in the UK, but I've never received push back. I don't think the reps are really studying the bottle and thinking how likely the bottle could be smashed during shipment, they just refund you.

I dont think there is a live support chat button on the website so i sent them an email, how long does it take on average for the reps to respond back? I have also filled the cologne bottle with water so i can smash it and say it leaked

No idea since I'm on the other side of the world with different stores but I usually get responses within 24 hours. If I send an email in the morning/mid day, when I wake up they will usually have responded to my email. It could take up to 2/3 days though. However long it takes, you can't make it go quicker so just be patient. Good luck Smile

Im still awaiting their reply however ive decided to try a new method . So recently i have bought fragrances locally and have decided to return it without an issue, my plan is to purchase the fragrance, open it carefully by slowly removing the plastic packaging and extracting the fragrance, id then replace 75% -100% of the rest of the bottle with water to retain some of the scent. Id then carefully repack the fragrance and add a little bit of clear glue to make it seem like it hadnt been tampered with and return it. Whatre your thoughts on this? The only issue i have is accidentally messing up the unwrapping and not being able to SE any fragrances with different colours.

You could do that although I think the smashed bottle tactic would be easier and less stressful.

Just done the fragrance shop and they are the first shop that has made me send the smashed bottle back so be aware of this if you use Photoshop for your smashed bottle. Also did fragrance direct pretty recently and they were easy and didn't request the smashed bottle back
