In short:

Claimed empty box with Game UK, they said they will investigate. A few hours later they emailed saying after ‘investigating with the management and warehouse resolution departments, the order was shipped correctly as stock numbers match the amount in our system’.


Is there anything I can do other than take an L on my first refund attempt?

I could continue, but for less that £70 is it worth the risk if they can prove it was sent correctly?

I should add that they know the package wasn’t tampered with (I.e courier didn’t open it and jack the game) as I told them it was still sealed before I opened it and it was empty.

Did you say the box was damaged? they usually ask for that sort of thing.

But you should have gone for dna with standard delivery.

What type of item is it that you attempted? I wouldn't take the L as Stock numbers don't mean that you necessarily received the item. It just means that they shipped it out to SOMEONE and it was supposed to go to you. Give us some more info

Hey, thanks for the reply. It was a PS4 game. I was thinking the same - maybe the courier took the game out and resealed the package? They can’t prove that I got the game which was taken off of their stock list, right?

I said the envelope was sealed before I opened it, as I have read that saying it’s tampered with leads to a courier investigation. I had to send them pics of what I did get in the box (just invoice), and the box itself.

In my opinion it doesn't matter what they have said about stock, YOU specifically did not receive it. The only thing that I feel like they could get you on was weight of the package, but seeing that they have not even mentioned it from what you have said it is a very positive look for me (obviously video games weigh like 4 oz as well so). They have proof that the item has been sent to someone, and it was supposed to come to you, but you didn't get it.

So what? It doesn't mean "you" got It, It could've been shipped to anyone.

If you're thinking of opting for the latter (tampering), you cannot change your story. Doing so, Is an admission of guilt.

Request your claim be escalated to a senior representative.

Tried again, and failed completely. Even after trying to be transferred to a manager they said the decision was made as it was sent out correctly - nothing they can do.
