Books or E-Reader? 04-28-2013, 09:04 PM

Are you a traditional book reader or have you crossed over into digital e-books?
I personally do not have a dedicated e-reader but do read e-books on my smartphone. I also read good olde fashioned paper books.
Thanks,
R.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of digital e-books. I get distracted way too easily whenever I'm on the computer. I wouldn't be able to finish the first page even if I tried to! So there you have it. I'm a traditional book reader. However, I'm not the kind of guy that touches a book unless he gets graded for it.

I'm more of an e-reader type person. I would commonly read e-books on-line, when I can't easily access books off-line. It's just another great option. e-books are typically less money too.

I hardly ever listen to books. I often read books on my phone that I've downloaded to my iPhone because of the convenience factor!
But I still enjoy reading real books more often than virtual ones!

I have been an avid reader all of my life, starting it with Roy Rogers comics when I was about 5 years old, and progressing to regular books once I became a good reader. When my daughter gave me an iPad, I certainly did not expect to enjoy reading on the iPad, better than holding a book in my hands, but it truly has happened !
I love regrading on the iPad. I get free books from the library, and from Amazon, and have gotten so used to not having to turn pages, or even have to go anywhere to get the book. I used to check at yard sales, as thrift stores, looking for something good to read, but now, I just download it and read to my hearts content.
So e reader definitely gets my vote !

I prefer the good old fashioned books, they're easier to read and it feels good to own each one.

I know that some of us, I guess I could be added that list prefer the conventional book. But the times they are changing. Tell me something how many of us still have a VCR, or a CD player for that matter? Well, I do, but I know that these are starting to phased out due to technology. I think the same could be said of the conventional book. I have to wonder if a hundred years in the future if a conventional book will still exist. After all I certainly would never had thought while growing up that a type writer would one day be considered obsolete, but now a days you would be hard crest to find one out there.

I don't really like e-books when reading "regular" books. However, when it comes to textbooks and others of the sort, e-books are a lot better. Mostly because they are cheaper and also because its more practical when carrying around.
