Anyone who actually pentests for a living will tell you they usually use no more than 15 different 'tools' total.

That's quite interesting. I never knew that, probably because I have never bothered to do the research and consider official pentesters methodologies too formal with certain restrictions. The thing is, should the need arise, I zero in on a target, conjure whatever is neccessary for a clean stealthy work and stay on it, no matter how long until I emerge victorious. Thus it is become a habit of mine to review tools (both software and hardware) in their countless numbers (eveing more interesting absorbing their internals) no matter how good the ones I currently belt.

Never heard of this, but in my opinion I'd rather stick with Kali Linux.

Sure. It's the de-facto. Even though it is a very feeble idea to be rigid. It sure makes things relatively easier.

Their repo is great, but there is no need for an entire distro.

Just get Arch/Antergos Core and add the tools you want, no need for 7k.

I used it for a while when i was OS hopping. I dont really care for the openbox WM. Everything felt crammed together. Out of all the security OS i tried my favorite was Parot. Now im just on a fresh Arch install and adding tools as i see fit

Have downloaded it but have not tried it yet. I like that arch itself is tiny and a real smooth runner; so all the power is going straight to the apps and services for the pentest !
