Big decision 06-30-2014, 08:47 PM

Hello HC,
I decided not to study IT in university for several reasons.
But major reason is I think that it will not satisfy me as a job.
Because now, I can learn whatever I want and do whatever project come into my mind. But as a job, I'll have to settle with what is brought to me. Tell me if I'm wrong.
So, I guess I'll do my major in foreign languages or sth like that.
Peace.

It depends on what you want to do in the future. You could become an entrepreneur and choose what you do. Altough money could become a problem.

If you didn't choose it, it's probably a good reason, and because of that it wasn't a bad decision.
You can do whatever you like in your life, and at the end of the day it's up to you. :3

You actually make a very good point.
Sometimes when you turn your hobby into your occupation it begins to become dull and just "work"
which the word normally indicates boring and sucks :Yuck:

IF you think that taking the decision will be good for you then don't hesitate.

Wow, that really is quite the decision. I'm not really sure of what I want to do at this point either... I mean, I love this field and all, but damn it can get difficult at times. Not to mention that people ask you to do everything for them without even trying, and they expect you to just know everything too!
Lately I've been learning PowerShell and I'm going to start coding in VB.Net for a job starting in September. I'll be allowed to work with a sysadmin for around 5 months. I'm hoping that this experience will tell me whether or not this is the path I really want to follow.
Regardless, I wish you the best of luck with your decision.
