It's really an opinionated topic. A lot of people, companies, businesses, or whoever will pay a lot of money for specific languages, and others may pay just for a program that works.
Each language has it's ups and downs. Looking for jobs with the language you selected or prefer may be hard depending on this strong and weak points. If you want a language that can bring in the most money, I would go with one of the C's, mainly because they are used in a lot of programs.
But again, some people may pay for a program that works, disregarding the language. So I would recommend learning more than a single language.

One of the C's or java. Both are really asked for, even thought it's always best to learn a bunch of languages. I'd suggest doing something simple, python or some completely artificial language just meant for teaching programming concepts, and then move on to java and then the C's. But that's just what is say, it depends on what kind of programming you're planning to do and so on.

depends on your job, if you're looking to just get hired as an average codemonkey learn python/c/java.

I'd definitely say Java...remember reading something about this, how Java jobs are sky rocketing.
