Asus SE Attempt #1
I tried to double-dip with a $500 monitor. It was a successful SE with amazon but I tried to see if a S/N claim would work with Asus.

Upon speaking to the rep both in live chat and on the phone, they suggested I send it in for repair when I claimed the monitor was broken.

I replied by saying the monitor was brand new and I shouldn't need to repair it, however, they asked me to contact Amazon, which I believe they knew by tracking the serial number.

Any suggestions on how to move further|?

^ No.

At this point, you should've used the disposed of the faulty Item method, with the Intention to circumvent the return. Always plan your SE In advance by evaluating every possibility against the nature of the Item. At any rate, given you've said the monitor Is broken, the method can still be used - the unit started smoking or caught fire a little while after your last conversation with the rep.

I see. I was thinking I'd FDIT it. Do you think it'd be better to use the dispose-off method? if so, I already have a script in mind for dispose off method that I can use.

Also, do you reckon I call them up or use the chat? I already called them once and finalized the return via chat.

Lastly, if they ask for picture proof, should I use the corrupt image method?

I appreciate the help.

I don't support It, so I won't comment on that.

Under the circumstances, either of the two will do.

Either that or (preferably) Photoshop It.

Update:

Spoke to a rep via chat and used the Faulty Item thrown out method. The rep said that they cannot offer repairs if you don't have the unit on hand. I asked them to escalate the issue claiming I've once received a replacement when something similar happened. Rep said they'd escalate my claim to a higher level support rep. I think it's going well so far. Waiting on a reply now.

You can't give what you don't have.

Tell them that you took photos of the damage (for Insurance purposes) prior to Its disposal, and you're more than happy to provide them as evidence. Then Photoshop the Images.
