This. The number of arrests will always be severely understated. The only time we'll hear about it is when someone gets a slap on the wrist or there's an article about Amazon getting scammed for 200k+.

There's a reason I put a disclaimer on this section. I don't recommend doing anything posted here. People are prone to lying and can give bad advice. Be wary of what you're doing and potential consequences.

Common sense does wonders, especially with regards to se'ing.  First off some "methods" draw a lot of heat just because of the nature of it, like FTID and it variations.  Other times it's when people don't use common sense to maximize plausible deniability with their se's, like fools who box Amazon by sending back dirt, or the one idiot who put incendiary devices in his mail packages in a retarded attempt to apply the LIT method.  If both of those dummies used dry ice instead, it's a high chance that they would not be in jail right now.

So as long as you use common sense and don't do greedy dumb shit like trying to dna three macbooks at one time, and put some space between your se's the chances of cops at your door is low because no cop cares about some company getting finessed out an Ipad every now and then, they have way better things to focus their time and resources on.

I agree with the statement above. It’s all about common sense and not get too greedy. It’s like everything else in life. Getting too greedy is gambling.

While I think of SE’ing as child’s play I do use a wide range of retailers and techniques. Also this isn’t my only scam. You got to mix it up and not put all your eggs in one basket.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm just trying to ascertain the worst possible outcomes for a small SEer who is relatively careful. It is not surprising to see someone get arrested for running a criminal enterprise (ie making a living out of it).

A small SE'er, for example, can be someone who's refunded 5 Items to the value of 900$, or someone who hit his first SE and tried his luck on a 25k diamond ring and succeeded. The ramifications with the latter, are far more serious than the former.

i will just drop my two sense in on this matter. social engineering by definition is manipulation of individuals to obtain your desired outcome. if your se is fueled by greed or profit i would just stop. If you se out of necessity then perhaps re evaluate where you can do life better. but if you find yourself seing to improve your situation with viable means of initial investment etc then you should be ok and at that point you are only doing something illegal if you admit to doing something illegal otherwise i do not understand whats illegal about it and if you are in the states the 5th ammendment is your best friend if anything were to present itself as troubling. if you are harming or scamming individuals i would be wary of the universe and karma catching up to you but if you are using intelligence to improve your situation among corporate slave masters than that is much different
